JAMB 2011 settles with South East Universities and Others

Post by Admin on Fri Mar 04, 2011 10:37 am

JAMB UTME 2011 /2012 has settled its registration dispute and has finally agreed to accept registration of candidates for the 2011 / 2012 Academic Session into the Five State Owned South East Universities (EEU, EBSU, ABSU, ESUT, ANSU), Lagos State University (LASU), Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), Port Harcourt and Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye. Lifting the ban on Wednesday, the JAMB registrar, Dibu Ojerinde, announced that candidates willing to apply in the above institutions for admission into the 2011 /2012 academic session can now go ahead and comfortably do so with the assurance that their registration will be duly accepted by the board. JAMB had earlier banned the universities from admitting students into 2011 /2012 session since they failed to conclude academic activities in the 2009 /2010 session and were unable to register 2010 /2011 candidates on schedule. This was of course caused by the 6 months industrial action by ASUU late last year. The positive decision to resolve and re-instating the universities into the registration process was made after a meeting with the proprietors of the universities. Myschoolcomm gathered that the proprietors agreed to stabilize academic activities and meet up with their counterparts by concluding the 2010 /2011 academic activities in November 2011 , without compromising the education standard and syllabus. The registrar has now ordered that JAMB official website should be updated and the banned schools should be re-included into the 2011 / 2012 Academic Registration Process. We are by this notice encouraging all candidates who wish to apply for admission into any of the universities; EEU, EBSU, ABSU, ESUT, ANSU, LASU, RSUST, OOU in the 2011 /2012 academic session, to do so if they so wish. The Universities will be accepting candidates in the 2011 UTME EXAMINATIONS.
